Role and Accountability

  • Strategic planning and optimisation of the financial controls process, jointly with the University Medical Centre Schleswig-Holstein (Centre manager, financial controls, managing third-party funding); development of existing financial control instruments
  • Segregated accounting: set up and monitor common standards and guidelines between the Universität zu Lübeck, Christian Albrecht University of Kiel and the University Medical Centre Schleswig-Holstein to execute the standards and comply with the law, assess appropriateness of funds deployed for research and education
  • Annual report on research and teaching: prepare and pre-negotiate the annual report on research and teaching and proof of appropriation outlays for state funding of research and teaching
  • Unit costs, overhead expenses: analyse and negotiate at the work level, monitor and advance the overhead cost agreement with the University Medical Centre Schleswig-Holstein
  • Medicine committee: participate in the medicine committee, execute resolutions passed by the committee of relevance to state funding for research and teaching
  • Professor appointment proceedings: provide advice and implement financial aspects
  • Advise the vice-president and research commission: cost estimates for project applications, advice and financial execution of decisions on programme majors and funding applications
  • Set up and monitor the budget
  • Advise the chancellor on all financial matters concerning the medicine section, and strategic positioning towards the University Medical Centre Schleswig-Holstein
  • Budgeting, cost estimations
  • Advise and support the facility manager in the medicine section on all financial matters, cooperate with and enhance management of third-party funding
