Qualification-goals/Competencies: - This module aims to address at expanding the knowledge of biophysical and biochemical characterization methods of protein complexes, which is the basis of all working enzymatic cascades. The module will include lectures and hands-on practical sessions. We will also visit CSSB/DESY
- You will learn:
- How to prepare a protein complex
- How to label proteins with fluorescent dye for single molecule fluorescence measurements
- UV / Vis spectra and discussions thereof
- How to setup the experiments to determine dissociation constant of the complex formation
- Different method for determination of complex formation (FRET, SPR)
- Discussion of the obtained results and comparisons of the results with other available structural data.
