On June 4, 2008 the UniFounder Award is awarded for the first time. It aims at creating incentives for spin-offs from the Institutes of Higher Education, thus generating new jobs. First prize-winner is "pro medTec Ltd"
Prize-winner 2008 is the pro medTec Ltd (Dipl.-Ing. Lukas Ramrath, Dipl.-Ing. Matthias Goeke, Priv.-Doz. Dr. Ulrich Hofmann, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Achim Schweikard) with their concept for development, production and marketing of instruments for the medical technological market. Its special focus lies on automation techniques and medical robotics.
University of Lübeck's president, Prof. Dr. Peter Dominiak, welcomed to the prize-giving. In two short presentations, Tim Bosenick from SirValUse Consulting GmbH, Hamburg, and Prof. Dr. Heinz-Otto Peitgen from MeVis Research GmbH, Bremen, presented the way „From an innovative idea to a successful company.
