An essential element of all research landscapes is the establishment of networks. The main focus of national and international funding sources is also on programmes that bring researchers and their work together in networks.
The most important funding institutions for peer-reviewed third-party funding of collaborative research are the German Research Foundation (DFG), the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the European Union (EU).
The BMBF and the EU attach particular importance to translation and transfer aspects and therefore welcome the integration of industrial partners into academic research groups. More information on technology transfer at the University of Lübeck can be found here.
