Like most other research facilities in Germany, the University of Lübeck has committed itself to implementing the recommendations of the German Science and Humanities Council (Wissenschaftsrat) for a core research data set. The provision of this data framework makes it possible to respond to the increasing reporting obligations on research input and output at research institutions.
PURE also simplifies internal data processes. Its backend offers downloadable data of all researchers to each other, it shows available equipment, enables automatic CVs and reports for joint research, it digitalizes proposal workflows, allows new evaluation data of collaborations and it groups data for reportings on the level of focus areas and interdisciplinary centers.
PURE also generates the university`s public Research Portal: https://research.uni-luebeck.de
The University of Lübeck has opted for PURE of the Elsevier company and, under the direction of Prof. Dr. med. Werner Solbach and Mrs. Christina Catana-Hoppe, has begun its introduction in 2015.
The introduction process took place in the following phases:
1. Data concept (2015-2016)
2. Framework with interdisciplinary pilot group (2016-2018)
3. Integration of UKSH employee data (Phase I 2017-2018, Phase II 2018-2019)
5. Start of data imports with publications (2018/2019)
4. Training of PURE editors of all institutions (2019)
5. Corona break: 2020-2022
