Our Universität zu Lübeck enjoys a significant spatial advantage on our campus through the University Medical Centre that houses parts of the Research Centre Borstel and its subsidiary Department of Internal Medicine III. Also, nearby on campus are the Lübeck University of Applied Sciences, and non-university research institutes and Leibniz units, which are currently under construction. Our goal is to develop the campus into a leading site in Germany for research in biomedical engineering.
Science has been always played an outstanding role in the life of this Hanseatic city. I would especially like to point out the fields of medicine, medical engineering and biotechnology. Also worthy of mention is the excellent collaboration between the Universität zu Lübeck and the University of Applied Sciences, embodied in the BioMedTec Science Campus [...]
The Universität zu Lübeck and the University of Applied Sciences, each strongly linked with the industry, are reinforcing their joint effort to attract even more businesses to Lübeck.
I wish you great success in this endeavour to transform the BioMedTec Campus in Lübeck to a German centre of excellence for medical engineering.
